A violin program that carries students from beginner to artist level and beyond.

Individual Lessons
Students receive weekly instructions in a one-on-one format. Parents of elementary and middle school aged children observe and take notes at each lesson so they are well-equipped to practice daily with their children.

Group Classes
Students in Suzuki Books 1-5 participate in twice monthly group classes, where in addition to learning ensemble skills, we practice and celebrate acts of kindness, humility, generosity, patience, persistence, courtesy, focus, persistence, self-reliance, responsibility, integrity… I could continue!

Advanced Studio Class
Advanced violin students from Suzuki Book 6 through well beyond Suzuki Book 10 participate in twice monthly studio classes. Designed in a collegiate format, the class explores advanced repertoire and technical studies in a group format.
Students share ideas and are given the additional opportunity to present their solo work to each other, receiving further insight and constructive feedback in a wholesome environment.

Masterclasses/Workshops
On occasion, world-class artists and performance are guest clinicians are invited to provide supplementary instruction and inspiration to our students.

Purpose of Capital Sound Strings:
To provide the highest quality of training and instruction to all participants, from ages 3-18 years.
To offer frequent performance opportunities – both within the program such as seasonal recitals, as well as concerts accessible to the public.
To provide facilities to participants and instructors so that they may conduct rehearsals, workshops, and seminars on a weekly basis.
To provide resources to groups within the organization so that they are equipped to perform at a high level in a variety of private and public venues.
To develop a high quality artistic product that is available to the surrounding community and that is respectful to the culture and heritage of the Greater Washington Area.
